H62 brass is a copper based alloy with zinc as the main alloying element, and is named because it is often golden yellow. The simpler brass is a copper-zinc binary alloy, called simple brass or ordinary brass. Brass with different mechanical properties can be obtained by changing the content of zinc in brass. The higher the content of zinc in brass, the higher its strength and slightly lower plasticity. H62 brass has beautiful color, good technological and mechanical properties, high electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water and sea water, easy cutting and polishing, good weldability and cheap price. Commonly used in the production of conductive and thermal components, corrosion resistant structural components, elastic components, daily hardware and decorative materials.

Characteristics and scope of application

H62 has higher strength than copper, good electrical and thermal conductivity, high corrosion resistance in the atmosphere and fresh water, and has good plasticity, easy cold and hot pressure processing, easy welding, forging and tinning, no stress corrosion rupture tendency. It is often used in the manufacture of valves, water pipes, connecting pipes of air conditioners and radiators. The zinc content of the brass used in the industry does not exceed 45%, and the zinc content will be brittle and the alloy performance will be deteriorated. In order to improve the corrosion resistance, strength, hardness and workability of brass, a small amount of tin, aluminum, manganese, iron, silicon, nickel, lead and other elements are added to the copper-zinc alloy (generally 1% to 2%, a few up to 3% to 4%, and very individual up to 5% to 6%) to form a ternary, four yuan, or even five yuan alloy, that is, complex brass, also known as special brass.
