Hastelloy B-3 nut alloy has the following properties
- B-3 alloy is a new member of the nickel-molybdenum alloy family. It has excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid at any temperature and concentration. At the same time, it also has good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid and other non-oxidizing media.
- Due to the adjustment of its chemical composition, its thermal stability has been greatly improved compared to the original B-2 alloy. B-3 alloy has high resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, knife edge corrosion and corrosion in the heat affected zone of welding.

B-3 has a face-centered cubic lattice structure. The iron and chromium content of the alloy is controlled to a minimum, thus preventing it from precipitating the NI4MO phase between 700-800°C, thus reducing the risk of processing embrittlement.
